Next HS appointment and travel tips

So I finally heard back from our social worker. We have our next homestudy visit the day after Thanksgiving. I feel like we are really rolling along. I have been working hard on keeping the ball rolling. I just emailed our placement agency asking what they want next. I want to get the specifics on what is required for the dossier so that I can work on getting those. I have already gotten several copies of mine and Pat's birth certificates. I know that I have to order several more copies of our marriage cert. too...but all these copies of things are $10-$15 per copy and it adds up! So I want to wait to see exactly how many I need.

I have received the forms filled out by our DR's for me and the kids. We are now waiting for Pat's dr to complete his. He had to go in for a TB test before they would complete it. We have everything else done for the HS and are just waiting to finish our visits. Well, then of course, we have to wait for Bev to write it.

Sometimes I feel giddy about the whole thing. :) Other times it seems like something we will just continue to talk and talk and talk about...but never actually happen.

I joined a yahoo group, Vietnam Travel Talk that I am hoping to learn some neat stuff. It was recently created by PAP's (PAP=potential adoptive parent) so we can learn from each other. There isn't much out there for travel info for us PAPs traveling to VN. Anyhooooooo, the big topic right now is to pack light. I like the idea....but when the time comes will I be able to resist packing 15 outfits for each Pat, myself and the new baby? I am going to try. I am learning some tips that seem so obvious, but never occured to me. Like choose all clothes in neutral colors so that you can mix and match. Meaning: you don't have to pack alot and look like you are wearing the same thing every day. I am going to have a tough time leaving behind my full size bottles of shampoo and stuff. Heck! I've got a lotta hair! I could be in VN for 3-4 weeks! I will just make do with whatever they sell there, I guess. It is always the toiletries that weigh me down.
