This is probably my last post until we arrive in Hanoi. I just can't believe it. Still. yes, I am still in shock.
What is real right now is that I am running around my house like a mad woman. I finished packing...now I just have to keep adding all that stuff that I forgot. Pat needs to bring his tea bags. The man won't drink tea from America...I doubt that he will be satisfied with the tea in VN. He only likes his Irish tea bags. Hey, I have to let him bring something. :)
We have 5 suitcases. Two roll on carry ons. A back pack and another tote. YIKES! The good news is that we will NOT have all that on the way back. I have one BIG suitcase full of clothes to give to the orphanage. Declan has grown out of a lot of clothes and some stuff will just never work out for him. He is so skinny with short skinny little legs. LOL!
And I have 2 suitcases with candy to give as gifts. Candy to bring for the older kids at the orphanage. Gifts for various people. T-shirts, Beef Jerky that someone requested...etc.... :) Shampoo and such that we will use up while we are there. So on the way home, I will be able to put one suitcase inside the other. Pampers will be used up. I always pack an outfit for each of us in the carry on...just in case luggage doesn't make it, we at least have one outfit to change into! Including 2 for Maeve. Plus the airline for the loooooooong flight is Thai Air. We will be on that plain for 17 hours...We all know how plane food is. And Pat and I aren't very fond of food that is too spicey which we were told was serven on Thai air, so I packed some of the soups in a cup and Pringles. Not delicious and nutritious, but it will get us through.
I still have a ton to do: clean my bathrooms...get my haircut, grocery shop, I had hoped to get a pedicure. Pat is working tonight, so that leaves only tomorrow.
Hopefully I exhaust myself so that I can sleep on the plane.
So this is it. We are really going. We are really going to Viet Nam to adopt a precious baby girl. A new daughter. A new sister. A new life as a family of five.

As I write, you are en route to Vietnam, I cannot believe the day has finally come! You will be seeing and holding Maeve in a few days, it seems like a dream to me, it must be surreal for you. You know what Maeve (or anyone) will not care if the house is clean. I admit that my house is always a mess! THat is life with 3 kids.
