All of sudden last night we get an email from our agency that VN is discussing changing the referral process and will probably implement this by March 1st. What this means is that while they are making changes things could potentially slow down for referrals. So our agency has encouraged those of us that are in the near completion stage of our dossier to "hurry things along a little". Needless to say I was back on the phone today with doctor offices and the police to get a local police clearance. The problem is not really getting these, but they have to be notarized. So we will probably end having to hire 2 seperate "mobile notarys". One for Pat's DR in Lowell and one for my DR in Dorchestor.
Now this afternoon, the date of implementing changes will be January 15th! YIKES!
So basically we have to have all our paperwork to VN by January 15th or we don't know what will happen! This sounds easy, huh? Just get your stuff together, Kerry and send it. Not so easy....as I said, we need to wait for all these other things to be done like our I-171 and all that authenticated and certified crap...I was hoping to have this all completed by mid to late January anyhow....but now I feel in panic mode and rushed!
Here is the best way for me to explain what is potentially going to happen:
Imagine you are at the Supermarket...you still have to wait in line at the Deli and get the stockboy to get something. There are 15 registers open all with 3-5 people in line. Then they announce that in 5 minutes they are closing all but one register and if you are not checked out, you will have to get in line in that one register. But you STILL have to wait for the deli and the stockboy!
I feel like this:

And a little bit like this:
