Wow! I have to say that I am surprised how many people are still checking this! Thanks for your interest and support. :)
So here we are...home about 2 1/2 months...and I am just making my update now. Hey, I was a great blogger right up until it really counted! LOL!
Maeve is doing wonderfully. She really is. It is pretty amazing how adaptable t
hese little humans are. It is like she has been with us forever. She will go to others without fussing, but she really looks out for her mom, dad and siblings. Everyone, of course, is in love with her. ;) Even Declan. This is the biggest shocker of all. I expected that after us being away for 3 weeks he would be MAD at us. And, at best, indifferent to Maeve. However, he was excited and delighted to see us. I know many parents out there are thinking "of course he was!" But you don't know Declan and he is hard to explain and predict. He truly loves Maeve. He loves to kiss and hug her. I catch him just watching Maeve and smiling at her. It is so cute.
Orla is the little mother to Maeve that I knew that she would be. Orla is always looking out for Maeve. And she loves to make Maeve laugh! As soon as Maeve sees Orla her face lights up. Orla has shown very little jealousy. I am very proud of her. She is such a wonderful sister to both her siblings.About a month ago Maeve had a very high fever of 104.9 and a serious UTI. The poor baby spent 4 days going to the pediatrician to get strong doses of antibiotics injected in her. Then 10 days on an oral antibiotic and about 2 weeks on another. We brought her see pediatric urologist in Boston for tests to make sure that "her plumbing was all right". The tests came back normal and she has been well since. I have to take a minute to recommend Dr. Klauber if your child ever needs a urologist. He was SO NICE! Truly concerned. So down to earth and warm. Since the time Declan was born, I have met a lot of specialists in Boston. Often times they act as though they don't have time for you and are doing you a favor by existing. It can be very frustrating. But Dr. Klauber was a delight.
Well, there have been lots of things that I have thought I wanted to blog about since returning home, but wanted to update first. (I have started this so many times! LOL!) So I will try to update this more often.
(the picures included with this post are from the first day home)
